The members of Just Friends are serious students of their craft, with experience of Big Band swing and small group jazz in a large number of public and private venues around Oxfordshire, Berkshire and Buckinghamshire.
Our original saxophonist , Mike, studied music full time under the tuition of several British jazz luminaries, and for fifteen years ran and performed in the Oxford Jazz Club, where many famous British musicians guested. While Mike is indisposed, we are lucky to have another Mike who studied jazz at the Birmingham Conservatoire

Paul served his musical apprenticeship on drums for rock and blues and was subsequently drawn to jazz, funk and latin music, enjoying the challenge of rhythmical variety. After developing a non-musical career, Paul returned to playing material from the classic jazz age, including the Great American Songbook, Latin American and Dixieland. Paul is taking time off to deal with health problems possibly related to his musical activitiesw, and we have the excellent drummer Steve.
Peter played tenor and baritone saxophone with one of the many Oxford big bands before returning to his first love the guitar. His musical education includes composition at the OUDCE, and jazz at the London City Literary Institute.
If space is problem, we can perform as a trio or duo.
